Colchester Zoo is set to stay open longer for two days this summer to give customers the chance to see more animals.
The attraction, in Maldon Road, is running two extended summer days where they will remain open until much later than normal.
The zoo will be open until 7:30 p.m. on special days at no additional cost.
Visitors will be able to see additional exclusive dating streams around the site in the evening.
The schedule of nighttime encounters includes orangutans, sea lions and sun bears.
The first extended summer day event will take place this Saturday and the second on August 20.
A zoo spokesperson said: “Have a summer like no other as we’re hosting a number of activities for the whole family!
“Walk around the park and watch our animals enjoy the summer sun. Feeling warm?
“Escape the heat and head to one of our many covered areas!
“You can even pick up a delicious, refreshing treat at one of our many seasonal food outlets, such as Slush Station!”
The animal encounter times for this Saturday’s event are as follows:
- 5:15 p.m. – Red panda
- 5:30 p.m. – Smooth-haired otter
- 5:45 p.m. – Orangutan
- 6:00 p.m. – Sea lion
- 6:15 p.m. – Spotted hyena
- 6:30 p.m. – Meerkat
- 6:45 p.m. – Sun Bear
