Fortnite/Marvel Crossover Comic Hints at Shuri’s Skin

Fortnite and Marvel are releasing a new comic this summer, and the cover suggests Shuri could be the next playable Marvel character skin.

fortnite and wonder are teaming up again for a new comic book crossover, hinting that Shuri from Black Panther fame could be the next playable fortnite the skin. Epic’s hit multiplayer battle royale title has seen several guest appearances from Marvel over the years, dating back to the infamous avengers villain Thanos in 2018. Many other comic book heroes, video game characters, and even real-life celebrities have been featured in fortniteincluding those from rival publishing house DC Comics, but Marvel was arguably represented in fortnite the most over the years, with the most recent Fortnite/Marvel characters including Spider-Man and his mad nemesis, the Green Goblin.

This connection between fortnite and the comics also went the other way, with DC releasing two crossover comics that saw Batman trapped in a deadly game of fortnite. In addition to allowing fans to see the Dark Knight take on characters like Longtime G.I. Joe member Snake Eyes and from Fortnite own the Foundation, these fortnite/Batman crossover comics led to the introduction of even more DC characters fortnite – like the dreaded Batman Who Laughs. Now it looks like Marvel is going full color fortnite fun crossover too, and might even hint at a whole new playable skin along the way.

Yesterday the FortniteBR The Twitter account revealed that Marvel is in partnership with fortnite to release a new crossover comic titled Fortnite X Marvel: Zero War. As pointed out The playerthe cover shown in this recent tweet features characters that have previously appeared as playable fortnite skins – except for Shuri, who appears alongside Wolverine and Spider-Man in a new costume. This led some fans to suspect that Shuri might be revealed as a new playable character when Fortnite X Marvel: Zero War is hitting comic book stands in June – though nothing to that effect has been confirmed by Epic or Marvel as of yet.

In the MCU comics and movies, Shuri is the younger sister of T’Challa/Black Panther, a princess of the African nation of Wakanda, and a gifted scientific and technological genius who rivals even Tony Stark and Bruce Banner. While she’s remained a strong supporting character for her brother since her first picture appearance in 2005 (and even reprized her Black Panther role on occasion), her first real exposure to the general public came under the shape of 2018 Black Panther and subsequent appearances in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. On the gaming side, Shuri was recently featured in the Marvel’s Avengers: Wakanda War DLC expansion, where she and her brother joined forces with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes to protect Wakanda and its Vibranium reserves from Ulysses Klaue and AIM forces However, as T’Challa was added at fortnite in 2020, Shuri herself has yet to be included.

Shuri has become an incredibly popular character over the past few years, so it’s possible she’ll come to fortnite soon – especially given its placement on the cover of the upcoming Fortnite X Marvel: Zero War comic. This is just fan speculation at this point, but Epic will likely reveal if and when Shuri’s hypothetical fortnite character skin will be released around the time Fortnite X Marvel: Zero War comes out later this year.
