Kapurthala DC reviews animal welfare programs in the district: The Tribune India

Kapurthala, November 9

Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal today reviewed the implementation of Government of Punjab animal welfare programmes. Vaccination programs received a great deal of attention at the meeting of the Department of Animal Husbandry.

Sarangal asked officials to ensure 100% vaccination of cattle against haemorrhagic septicemia (HS) and other diseases.

Officials have been instructed to organize special camps at the village level to raise public awareness of diseases suffered by animals. The DC emphasized that veterinary officers and their teams need to travel to rural areas for district vaccination.

The deputy commissioner also said a joint meeting of the District Animal Welfare Society and the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals would be held to implement animal welfare programs.

HS Bedi, deputy director of the livestock department, said: “Up to 1.4 lakh injections of Gal Ghotu have already been administered. Soon the whole neighborhood will be covered.

On this occasion, Kapurthala SDM Lal Vishwas Bains and Deputy Commissioner Upinderjit Kaur Brar were also present.
