As part of the initiative, Smithfield will also adopt internationally recognized water management standards by 2025 to support its long-term water management goals.
The comprehensive water conservation effort will update previous water assessments and inform updated strategies related to water use, quality and availability in all of the hog farms owned by the company. ‘corporate and contracted, in manufacturing facilities and in grain supplier operations from Smithfield’s domestic wallet.
